On Election Day 2024, Rice Votes hosted the university’s first-ever Election Day Block Party. It was a high-energy, nonpartisan event designed to make civic engagement both visible and exciting. Held in the Academic Quad right next to the on-campus polling location, the event featured free refreshments, a civic organization fair, live music, and even a bouncy castle. The goal was simple but powerful: create a space where voting felt like a celebration, not just an obligation.

Perfect for welcome fairs, dorm tabling, or voter registration drives during high-traffic seasons.

Civic Holidays Grant

Celebrate democracy with style! This grant supports events and outreach tied to major civic holidays like National Voter Registration Day, Constitution Day, or Election Hero Day. Whether it’s a campus tailgate, a trivia night, or a themed tabling event, this funding helps you turn civic pride into civic participation.

Institutionalization & Campus Reform Grant

Looking to embed civic engagement into your campus infrastructure? This grant supports long-term campus changes that embed civic engagement into university systems and policies. Eligible projects include integrating voter registration into course registration or orientation, advocating for Election Day as a holiday, securing a campus polling place or ballot drop box, or piloting free election mail programs to build the case for permanent adoption. Ideal for chapters working to leave a lasting legacy on campus.

  • 10 External Organization Collaborations

  • 26 EVC Grants awarded and $18,000 supported various EVC Grant Initiatives

  • Interacted with nearly 4400 students through event, polling location check, registration checks, and voting information

  • Registered nearly 1350 students to vote and provided nearly 400 rides to polling locations.
